Stranger Things' Sadie Sink to Star in West End Production of Romeo & Juliet
Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink is set to make her West End debut in a new production of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. The 23-year-old actor, who gained fame as Max Mayfield in the Netflix series, will play Juliet opposite Noah Jupe, known for his roles in A Quiet Place and The Night Manager, who will portray Romeo. The production, directed by award-winning writer and director Robert Icke, will run at London’s Harold Pinter Theatre starting March 2026. Sink, who began her stage career at age 10 in New York’s Broadway district, has long dreamed of performing in London’s West End. ‘To get to do that in one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays under Rob’s direction with Noah will be such an exciting challenge,’ she shared. ‘London theatre has this incredible energy, and I can’t wait to be a part of it.’ Jupe, 20, is also making his stage debut with this production. He recently expressed his enthusiasm for the project, calling it ‘a challenging and rewarding experience’ that was ‘an opportunity you simply cannot turn down.’ The Romeo & Juliet adaptation will be Sink’s first West End performance, though she has previously been nominated for a Tony Award for her role in Kimberly Belflower’s John Proctor Is the Villain. The actress has also appeared in the 2022 Oscar-winning film The Whale and the recent post-apocalyptic drama O’Dessa. She will also join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Spider-Man: Brand New Day next year. The production’s announcement comes as Stranger Things prepares to conclude its run with the final season release later this year, with Sink’s co-stars Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, and Finn Wolfhard also preparing for the series’ end.
